- Do I need to upgrade?
We highly recommend upgrading your COIN to take advantages of the latest features and updates that include bug fixes and more. Additionally, COIN V3 is required for trading on Coinvest, Coinvest Plus, and other exchanges. Older versions of COIN will no longer be supported.
- What does this token upgrade mean with the current COIN I hold?
This means that your current COIN has value and will be required in order to upgrade to the new COIN that is used and accepted in the open market.
- Do I need to upgrade COIN V1 to COIN V2 before proceeding to COIN V3?
No, COIN V1 can be upgraded directly COIN V3 directly.
- Can I transfer COIN V1 or V2 to another wallet in the meantime?
Yes, COIN V1 or V2 are unlocked and transferable.
- Can I trade old COIN on centralized / decentralized exchanges?
COIN V1 and V2 will not be supported on any Coinvest-sanctioned exchange. To trade your COIN you will need to withdraw your old COIN from your exchange to your new Coinvest wallet, upgrade to COIN V3, then deposit to the new COIN V3 deposit address on the exchange.
- Can I purchase COIN from others privately?
Technically, yes. As old COIN has value and will be required for upgrading to the new version of COIN. However, please note that purchasing or trading from unauthorized sources can result in scams, lost funds, and more. We will not be able to assist in help, provide support, or troubleshooting any issues related to any private deals.
- What is the deadline to upgrade COIN V1 or V2 for new COIN V3?
There is no deadline to upgrade COIN. The Coinvest token upgrade smart contract will be open forever with no deadline. However, it is recommended to upgrade COIN at your earliest convenience in order to leverage COIN on the Coinvest platform and future exchanges.
- Do you expect more COIN forks in the future?
While we can't commit that there will never be future upgrades and forks to the COIN token and protocol, our goal is to minimize forks as much as possible to prevent disruption and inconvenience to our token holders. Technology is ever evolving and innovation may drive the need for future upgrades; however, we will always assess the overall impact that these situations have to our community and act accordingly.
